Carly: Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do for a living?
Bayle: My name is Bayle and I was born and raised in Houston! By day, I work as a production assistant in film and television, and by night I own a custom-decorated sugar cookie business called The Baykery!

Carly: What was your 'Jewish experience' like in college?
Bayle: I was very involved in Jewish youth groups in high school and participated in a gap year program in Israel after high school, so I wanted a university with a strong Jewish life. I attended the University of Arizona, which was the perfect choice. I proudly served as the Heritage Chair of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority, educating the chapter about our Jewish history (my proudest accomplishment was hosting the first chapter-wide Shabbat dinner). Additionally, I led Friday night services as a member of the Shabbat Team at Hillel, attended evening classes and events at Olami, was a member of an honor society for Jewish students in Greek life, and worked as a youth advisor at a local synagogue. You can say I was pretty active!
Carly: What is your favorite Houston staple?
Bayle: My go-to restaurant will always be Kenny & Ziggy’s- that’s the first place I bring any visitors, and it was always my last meal before going back to college each semester. Activity-wise, I love love love the Houston Rodeo!
Carly: What do you do for fun?
Bayle: You can usually find me at an Astros game, concert, musical, or at home rewatching Friends for the thousandth time! I love spending time with loved ones and my two bunnies, Chip and Frida. I also volunteer with Houston Rabbit Resource. Now that Rodeo season is upon us, I’ll be there quite often as well!

Carly: What do you enjoy most about Jewston events?
Bayle: Jewston events are a fun, low-pressure way to stay involved in the Jewish community. I love that it’s “come as you are” and everyone is so friendly. I’ve also had the best time reconnecting with childhood friends and making new ones!
