Meet Caroline: Jewston's Mensch of the Month!

Carly: Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do for a living?

Caroline: My name is Caroline Reichel and I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and I am moving to Houston to begin my role as Teen Education and Engagement Associate with the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston! I previously held roles with Hillel and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago and I am passionate about Jewish community and engagement, especially for younger folks.

Carly: What was your 'Jewish experience' like in college?

Caroline: In college, it was at times challenging to feel connected to other Jewish students, being at a large university that had a smaller Jewish population (at the time). Thanks to Birthright Israel, I was able to meet other Jews on campus and some of those individuals became a huge part of my support system on campus! During my senior year, Chabad came to university, and I spent Shabbat with them too.

Carly: What do you do for fun?

Caroline: In my free time I enjoy reading, watching reality TV, spending time with my 6-year-old dog Sunnie, and the best shops and restaurants in my city!

Carly: What do you enjoy most about Jewston events?

Caroline: I am looking forward to meeting the Jewston community and making connections in the Houston area! It is important for me to build my social circle within the Jewish community and I can't wait to begin creating friendships.
